Poll results, new poll, and some other stuff.

I apologize for the lack of blogging over the past week, but I was busy in South Florida, and then I got sick.

Emergency room sick.

And, if anyone really wants to hear, I can tell the story about how fun my flight home was.

I'm starting to feel better today, though. Which is a good thing, since it's my birthday.

For my birthday, I got several very nice gifts. But there was one funny one that I thought I'd share. It is from my sister, who shares my penchant for silly t-shirts:

Yep, that's an appropriate 31st birthday present.

Anyway, here's a picture I took during a brief foray in downtown Miami. It's a view of the Federal courthouse from across the street, where I was sitting and waiting to meet up with some friends for lunch.

It's important to note that this is not the courthouse where Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock filed their divorce papers today.

Onto last week's poll -- the results of which are far from surprising:

Clearly, it's the family -- and not the food -- that really matters. Still, I'm glad that pie tied for second place.

Anyway, the new poll is up. It's a reflection on holiday traveling. Vote here.

Thanks everyone! You rock!

Kimmie: Same day, just two years earlier.

And the story is a bacterial infection -- which led to projectile vomiting red Gatorade in the middle of Palm Beach International Airport, and then again in first class on the airplane back to DC. So then I dropped off my luggage, went straight to the emergency room at GW, where I was so dehydrated that they couldn't even take blood from me for tests.

But eventually, after an IV, they managed to run tests, and now I'm on Cipro, which until now, I thought was only the antibiotic of choice for anthrax victims. It's been a fun three days.
