I finally watched it over the weekend. I don't see how it can in anyway be considered self-indulgent. Can you imagine her getting someone else to stand for a picture in the same place with the same expression every single day for three years? Sounds like minor torture to me. I think it's an interesting idea. Certainly takes commitment to carry it off.

I didn't watch bc I have dial up and it would have sucked my soul out to wait for it to load:(
DSL: The commitment is something else, but mostly, isn't it beautiful, in a sort of wistful way?
