For the record, I disagree with Justin: I think The Two Coreys is great reality television. Even if it is staged.
And I should know: I'm becoming something of a reality tv expert this summer. You see, even in the absence of last summer's staples (Rock Star and Project Runway) I've been secretly and not-so-secretly watching a lot of it. (I have not, however, been recapping it -- TVGasm does a better job than I could even imagine.)
My only excuse for watching is that it's addictive.
Other than the Coreys and Rock of Love, I've been watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels, The Pick-Up Artist, and uh, Mission: Man Band.
It's only that last one that really embarrasses me.
So, the new poll is about Reality TV in general: Is it an entertaining diversion or a blight on humanity. Vote here.

I can't vote in your poll because I don't think it's such a black and white issue. However, "The Two Coreys" is a blight on humanity. I have been watching Rock of Love though. In general, however, it appears you are beginning to watch too much reality tv.
hmmm...I was just going to say "can't it be both entertaining and a blight on humanity?" If you're embarrassed to watch it and yet can't turn away, surely that's a sign. I say watch it if you enjoy it, but if it starts making you feel physically and mentally sick... (i.e. daytime television)
Justin: You're right. The question is oversimplified. But it's a poll on a blog, not scholarly research.
But you're totally wrong about The Two Coreys. I think the problem is that you're expecting it to be true "reality," whereas it's just surreal. I can't wait for the fight next week!
DSL: It can be both. And luckily, you can vote more than one time. So, for example, if you think it's 2/3 entertaining, and 1/3 blight, heck, vote three times.
I don't expect true reality. As someone who once lived with a reality TV star, I know that's the last thing to expect. I don't like The Two Coreys because it's boring as hell.
By the way, 19 + 11 is 30, not 40.....
Oops... it's 19 + 10... and I see where you got the 40 votes from. What happened to the other 11 votes? Is Diebold running your poll? I knew Stand By Me really won.
Justin: 19+10 is 29. And the other 11 votes include the votes cast for other choices in the earlier version of the poll.
