This occurred to me on the way into work this morning. I'm sure you can figure out the context if you try.
The harder you try to be on time, the more likely it is that you will be late.
Corollary: When you're in a rush, the person who gets on the elevator after you is, inevitably, going to the next floor.

That elevator one is SO TRUE! GRR! Where I have an office, there are stairs right beside the elevator, and there aren't that many stairs between floors. You'll always have one person wanting to go just to the next floor and it drives me up the wall because the elevators in the building are those extra slow and stinky ones!
Yes! These are also the days when you will put a run in your stockings (with out a back up pair) and loose your keys. It has been a long morning....
