Revisiting the '80s

I stumbled across an article in the L.A. Times about how Hall & Oates is having a resurgence of sort.

Personally, I never really thought that they went away. In fact, I still have my tape of Big Bam Boom that I got for my birthday in the 4th grade. I remember watching the Nickelodeon show where they played music videos (I wasn't allowed to watch MTV), hoping that they would play Out of Touch or Method of Modern Love. I still maintain that those songs are awesome. The '80s hair, not so much.

Those are awesome songs, but I always thought the M-E-T-H-O-D-O-F-L-O-V-E part was a cop out. If you're going to name the song "Method of Modern Love," you have to spell out "modern" as well.

Method of Modern Love will always be my hands down all-time Hall and Oates fave!

I saw them perform at Rams Head Live in B-more a few years back and it was awesome! I was a little disappointed though that they decided not to perform my 2nd fave tune, "It's a Laugh". :(

Justin: Spelling is hard for rock stars.

Anonymous: It's funny, as I've gotten older, Method of Modern Love went from being my favorite of their famous songs to being in the middle of the pack -- but not that I'd turn it off if it came on the radio or anything. Nowadays, my favorite is So Close, but maybe that's because of the Jon Bon Jovi connection.

I don't think I've heard So Close before (or maybe it's been such a while that I don't remember how it sounds) but I will definitely check it out!

Have a great weekend!

They did a pretty good cover of the old Spinners classic "I'll Be Around." Surprisingly, so did Joan Osborne. Well, maybe not so surprising.
