Just a bit of commentary about nothing in particular.

I should know better
Earlier this week, I told my parents that I was going to "Rock the Casbah" on my trip to Morocco. Of course, I was stunned that they did not get the Clash reference.
Your parents aren't watching enough TV commercials.
I tried to leave a comment the other day, but Blogger wouldn't let me. Anyway, I wanted to say that, as someone whose only aspiration was to become a beach bum, I admire -- envy -- your decision to quit your job. Maybe you'll become this famous artist or writer in Sedona!
Evil Spock: Yeah, they use the DVR to fast-forward through commercials, so I'm not sure they would have gotten that either.
So I *painstakingly* explained it to them and offered to e-mail them an .mp3, if they were interested. Predictably, they declined.
Mad: I still aspire to be a famous writer, but I'll have to have a day job for a while longer -- at least until my student loans are paid in full. But in the interim, I'm just hoping to do something I like.
And, as for my being an artist, you clearly think my painting skills are WAY better than I think they are.
Debby: My dad actually seemed to get the reference more than my mom -- but I think that's only because he tends to fall asleep instead of fast forwarding through tv commercials.
U know...they might have thot it a reference to something else...that rocks...that parents avoid with their kids...that they couldn't believe you were sharing...that...

I'm not sure my parents would either. I'm pretty positive about my dad. Way back when, I didn't know what they were saying either.

Nah, my folks know that I talk in song lyrics. They especially knew it once I started singing.
I hate to comment on something unrelated, but our AUCTION started and it's for a great cause so please take a look and spread the word! YAY!
