The Police were good, not great. So were the Chili Peppers and Gnarls Barkley.
The Dixie Chicks and Justin Timberlake was fantastic. But, personally, I thought that the best performance of the night was by Shakira and Wyclef Jean.
Although, I might have really liked the performance with Corinne Bailey Ray, John Legend, and John Mayer -- except for the fact that John Mayer makes a funny face when he plays. It's hard to take that seriously.
I really liked Carrie Underwood's version of Desperado.
Most importantly: I was right on half of my predictions.

John Mayer has got to be high. The face, the hair, the sneakers with the suit -- and the clearest sign: He's dating Jessica Simpson.

Two of my friends have a growing obsession with the Dixie Chicks. This is causing me to have an irrational dislike of them. The chicks, not my friends. Why would they do this to both me and their favorite group?
P.S. The brunette look is so much better.
DSL: Repeat after me: It's okay to not like the same things as my friends. Differences of opinion are what make the world interesting.
And yes, Natalie Maines looked good last night with dark hair.
I was pretty disappointed with the Police. Boring song choice, boring rendition, and what's up with only playing one song?! If you're going to hype the reunion so much, do a couple songs or at least a medley.
Of course, I was 100% right in my prediction that the RHCP would win at least three of the 5 categories you listed in your predictions, and that the Raconteurs would get zilch. I am a genius! ;-)
CBK: Yeah, but you were wrong (and I was right) about the video. OK Go's Here It Goes Again was clearly going to win. Nothing else was even close.
Is it true that at some point John Mayer spoke in Japanese about Jessica? I didn't get to watch the show.
Mad: Not exactly. John Mayer said something in Japanese in response to the Jessica Simpson question during a red carpet interview.
Oops, I forgot I called them for video, too. What was I thinking?!?! Of course Ok Go would win that.
I wish people would stop liking Mary J. Blige-YUCK!
Christina Aguilera was so good, too. She has such a voice. And Mr. JT is smokin'!
Scarlet: I don't like Mary J. Blige, but her duet with U2 has grown on me. And I was annoyed by Christina's red lipstick. The garishness of it distracted me from her performance.
I was, however, feeling the JT love last night.
He still looks 14 to me.
DSL: He's 26, which is fair game. Especially since his last girlfriend is 35.
I'm joining this discussion several days late, but here are my thoughts.
Police? Eh. They were alright I guess, but nothing too exciting. As for the song choice, they really had no choice but to play Roxanne. It's their signature song.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers gave a very boring performance of their most boring song ever. "Hey oh, listen what I say-oh?" I expect much better from RHCP. No amount of white confetti falling from the ceiling to look like snow could save it.
The Chicks were great. I was actually really bored by JT. No JT love from me.
I actually think Christina Aguliera gave the performace of the night. Second best was probably the Rae/Legend/Mayer thingy.
One of these things is not like the other... Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie, and Chris Brown (or whatever his name is)?
I still like Mary J. Blige, but we've been through this before.
I missed Gnarls Barkley. Oh well.
Oh, and doesn't John Mayer put pot in a humidifier or something to get high? Wasn't that in the Rolling Stone article about him? Ever since I read that, I've assumed he's high at all times.
I still think he's mostly a Dave Matthews rip-off, but he was pretty good at the Grammys.
