Diet Coke v. Coke Zero

I'm pretty sure that I've previously noted my addiction to Diet Coke on this blog sometime in the not-too-distant past. If not, consider this an admission. ("Hi, my name's Dara, and I'm a Diet Coke addict.")

But recently, I was somehow convinced to try Coke Zero. My conclusion: It's not bad -- at least when it's lukewarm.

This disturbs me -- and not just because of my loyalty to Diet Coke. You see, for years I've been making fun of my sister's affinity for warm (regular) Coke, no ice. Perhaps she's not so wrong after all.

I actually prefer drinking beer at room temperature. Somehow the flavor comes through. I'll never have a problem during a power outage.

Beer warms up so quickly that it's hard to keep it at an optimal temperature. I don't like freezing cold beer, but I think room temperature is too warm.

I like coke zero better than diet coke. YUM! but cold...def cold.

But before Coke Zero, were you a Diet or Regular Coke drinker?

I can barely tolerate Diet Coke. Coke Zero is somewhat more tolerable, but regular coke is better, and when it comes down to it, I'll take an iced tea over any of the above.

But you grew up drinking regular Coke, right? I don't remember ever having regular soda in the house, since my mom only drank diet. So, I think all non-diet soda tastes funny. Except for kosher for Passover soda -- which is made with real sugar, not corn syrup. That stuff is GOOD!

I disagree; I'm a diet coke drinker (Drank regular as a kid until my mom and older sister began bringing diet in the house. Once you start you can't stop.) and I found the Passover diet coke (made with Splenda) to be horrible.

I wasn't talking about the passover Diet Coke. The Diet Coke made with Splenda is gross.

I was talking about the full sugar kosher-for-Passover regular Coke. It's really good, as are the kosher-for-Passover -- and full sugar -- Dr. Brown's Black Cherry and Cream sodas. (As opposed to regular Coke, etc., which aremade with corn syrup not sugar.)
