The religious right is getting dumber all the time

Lately, the religious right always has something silly to say. Like Pat Robertson claiming that God advises him on the weather and that Ariel Sharon's stroke was punishment from God.

Today, Jerry Falwell claimed that "You almost got to be a homosexual to be recognized in the entertainment industry anymore."

If they really had the close relationship with God that they claim, don't you think he'd tell them to shut the fuck up before they embarrass him?

Drunk democrats are getting worse all the time. Crashing their cars into Jersey barriers at three in the morning while fucked up on pain pills . . . punching out cops for doing their simple job . . .

To take the most outspoken assholes of a group and judge that entire group by them really shows how intelligent and enlightened you are.

You are completely out of touch, as tonight's featured commentary on CNN.com clearly demonstrates.

Your blog is becoming way to popular.

If people don't get it, they don't get it. And it's not like I didn't note the Patrick Kennedy story.

But as far as I can tell, it's just Chris being silly.

Only he would cite Dobson.

For the record, I'm crazy loony batshit silly. At least that's what grandmama always said as she rocked me to sleep. And while I'll own up to GodIsMyMeteorologist, Anonymous is on his own. Not me.

Oh, and lest I forget, I should add that, in fairness, Anonymous makes a really good point because the right never engages in gratuitous demagoguery. I know this because my radio has no AM band, I can't get cable and Wal-Mart always sells out its library before I can get there on Thursdays.

But what's all this I hear about Rush smuggling boner pills out of the Dominican Republic?

Show me a revolting Democrat and I'll raise you 50 corrupt, hypocritical Republicans every time.

Chris, imho, the biggest differences are (a) the fact that the Democrats are more likely to own up to their idiocy (see Kennedy example) and (b) they're not always touting their morals.

Oh yeah, then there's also the notion that fewer people die from their lunacy.

Politics is inherently corrupt. Politicians are corrupt. There are no morals. They're all just doing what's in their own self-interest, and if it happens to benefit others, well that's an extra added bonus. Life would be better if people just owned up to this, and stopped throwing God into the mix.
