Surreal

I was going to write something personal, but I can't do it. Suffice it to say that my stress level is close to unbearable.

Instead -- mostly to amuse myself -- I'm going to share with you my weirdest work email of the day, sent at 9:40 this evening:

"On an unrelated matter, I am currently on a Metro train surrounded by hoardes of Hannah Montana concertgoers. It is quite surreal."

I somehow ended up at the mall the same night Ashley Tisdale was there to perform a whopping three songs.

"Who?"

"Ashley Tisdale! From HS Musical!"

"Wait, is she the one who did nudie shots for her gay boyfriend?"

(loud exhale) "No." (another loud exhale and then turning of the shoulder to brush me off)

Surreal doesn't even begin to describe it.

I live next to a mall. Ryan Cabrera was performing there once, when I was trying to get Subway for dinner, before (or maybe at the beginning) of the whole Ashlee Simpson dating episode, before he was on her reality show, and well before they played his song (songs? I don't remember) on the radio.

I thought it was sad, actually. So I bought his CD.

I can actually empathize a little. I was on the orange line metro coming back from DC a few months ago and was surrounded by families coming home from a Wiggles concert. Of course, that may be me before too long.
