Florida State makes news!

And it's not about sports!

According to this article, an FSU professor found and took pictures of a rodent species believed to be extinct.

And, after looking at the picture, I am very glad that the rodent that used to visit my apartment was only a mouse.

I'm going to take your word for it -- I'm still too traumatized to click on the link.

It's kind of cute, in a "not in my apartment" kind of way.

It actually looks a lot like the big rodent things called nutria that they have down in Louisiana.

I have some movies of them from my bayou tour.

The nutria looks like a beaver.

Different tail of course. Or maybe a groundhog.

Up close, the nutria looks like a giant rat. It's got a long, skinny, hairless tail. The newly discovered rodent looks like a cross between a giant mouse and a large squirrel.
