You see, despite being raised watching baseball, I had never really paid much attention to basketball until I saw Christian Laettner. I mean, he was one of People's 50 Most Beautiful People.
After that, I started paying more attention to sports. Of course, dating a basketball player and going to two big sports schools didn't hurt.
And now, it's what, 15 years later, and I still think he's cute -- at least in that picture.

You know what's scary about that? That was so long ago that I, and probably the majority of the people watching that game, wanted Duke to win that game! I still might in that match-up, because I strongly dislike Kentucky, but sometime in the last 15 years, rooting against Duke became a national pasttime.
I would have been rooting for Duke back then, too.
Sad to admit it, but I still have a Duke baseball cap from back in the day . . .
