Florida politics

Not even Governor Bush is supporting Katherine Harris's senate bid:
"I just don't think she can win," Bush said at the Capitol in his strongest statement yet about his fellow Republican's struggling campaign.
* * *
Bush also noted that polls show Harris running about 30 points behind Nelson.
"There's not a complicated reason," Bush said of his assessment that she can't beat Nelson. "It's just that's she's not gained any traction, and it seems that, unfortunately through no fault of her own perhaps, the press coverage is all about the problems in her campaign."
* * *
Bush said Monday that he was not worried about Harris dragging down the Republican ticket. "Florida voters are pretty sophisticated," Bush said. "They discern the issues well. We're a purple state. Democrats can win. Republicans can win. I don't think anybody can take anything for granted."

I wonder if her flirtation with that college newspaper reporter, as previously reported by Chris, is what pushed her over the edge.

Dara, I think I speak for the rest of the blogosphere when I state we'd rather talk about former Florida Congressman Porter Goss having to resign from the CIA for: Getting caught up in the Duke Cunningham bribery investigation, where a defense contract allegedly hosted poker games and hookers for Cunningham and about 15 senior Republican members of the Armed Services establishment.

Is there a third option?

Well, speaking of high crimes, I hear that Britney Spears may be pregnant.

Yup, it was just confirmed, although I blogged about it on April 25th.
