Things I learned from this week's reality television

I haven't yet seen this week's 30 Days or the first episode of Gene Simmons's Family Jewels, but I have them on DVR for the weekend. In the meantime, here's what I learned from last night's Project Runway and Rock Star: Supernova.

First, Rock Star:

1. It's safer to be weird all the time (see: Zayra) than to surprise the viewing audience with an offbeat and artistic rendition of a rock standard (see: Ryan).
2. It's clear that there are two tiers of contestants left: the good and the just-wasting-time-until-September-sweeps.
3. I am so awesome at picking the encore. I got both right, without even knowing that there would be two.

And now, Project Runway:

1. Despite Vincent's best efforts, giant pockets are not ever going to be "in".
2. When Angela is restricted -- either working with a set image or with other people -- her stuff is not horrible.
3. It's better to be boring (see:Robert) than costume-y (see:Bradley).

I'll miss Bradley. He always said the most peculiar things. However, I will not miss either Jill or Josh.
